My pieces have finally been deleted from Destop Nexus but not without a fight with the moderators as it seems that the owner of the site, Harry Maugan, is away on business for a few weeks (surprise surprise). He also happens to be the person who all the Violation Reports are sent to. If youre still having problems having your art removed approach one of the gallery moderators to see if they can help you BUT you still have to fill out a report and prove ownership including an electronic signature in your report.
I would say that site is laughing all the way to the bank because their member numbers would have more than doubled through all of this bullshit....and.....the offending thief is still showing shitloads of DA art.......so......who won ????

I have spent the whole day watermarking and uploading ALL of my art so thats done and I thank you for your understanding if you had received any updates in your "inbox" but Im hoping not because I ticked the box "do not notify watchers".

Thank you to all who have supported me in this, I truly appreciate that support and understanding and its nice to know that for all the bitching we see going on in here at times, when the chips are down we all look out for our "own". So thank you again for looking out for me

Namely…. my art.

WARNING : If you are not in the mood for a gut busting venting rant then close this window NOW !!!!

I know this is a moot subject with many of you in here and it has raised many debates
far and wide with positives and negatives on the subject.
I however, have come to a point that I am jackshit over and done with seeing the artwork I put a
lot of love, time and hard work into only to find it being stolen and posted on other sites.
I know my work isn’t as good as a lot of people might think but DAMN…..its MY work and I
Am damn-well proud of it as something that I have achieved.

What pisses me off the most about it is that it takes 1 second to right click the image by the thief and 5 minutes to remove my tag, post on their site, renaming it and calling their own. YET…..it takes me hours of writing emails attaching URL links to both the original stolen artwork as well as the newly posted artwork in their gallery, following the rules and regulations of these so called art sites Copyright Violation Report Policies to a T, including electronic signature stating the work is owned by ME and having to prove WHO I AM by giving out my personal details, home address, phone number etc to sites and strangers that I have no interest in just to have these stolen pieces removed. Even then, it’s a lucky dip if they take the offending artwork off their site as I am still finding works I have reported stolen in Flickr and Photobucket months after I have reported the theft.

This has been brewing for me for quite some time now and today was the catalyst when I found my artwork being offered in Desktop Nexus, sans my tag, sans my original names, edited and with comments on the pieces to the thief who posted the works like “oh you do such beautiful work” and “your work is awesome” etc etc that it ripped my guts out with anger because its NOT that persons work, its MY work. So I posted a comment (as did many other Deviants) on that person’s homepage stating they are in Copyright Violation for stealing my works. I then proceeded to get over a period of a few hours the most nastiest, rudest, filthy swearing comments sent to me in posts and messages like you wouldn’t believe. I will add that I had also, once again gone through hours of sending Copyright Violation emails to the moderators of that site…only to find that the moderators had deleted all the DeviantArt related comments from that persons journal and virtually patted her on the head stating that all the DA people were doing, was unnecessary harassment and that any future comments by us would be deleted. I will also add, that even though I have proven ownership of my pieces, they have still not been removed from that person’s gallery.
I will also add that this thief is also a member here in DA, no deviations of her own in her DA gallery either. This isn’t the first time this has happened and the previous thieves still remain here in DA….still with no deviations in their gallery and still faving everyone’s works.

Sooooooo its come to this. I either take all my works down and close this account and just do my artwork for my own pleasure keeping it safe, OR I do what many of you hate (including myself) and that is, slap ALL of my works both past and future with the big ugly MF DA watermark.
I have decided that the enjoyment I get from my art and sharing it with all of you of whom many I have become friends with and who support and encourage my art, far outweighs my anger at wanting to delete my works and leave DA. Therefore that leaves me with one other option only and that is to slap that big MF DA watermark over ALL of my works. I know it looks ugly and detracts from the visual effect and mood of the artwork but I am hoping that each and every one of you can look beyond that and see the beauty for what it is below the watermark.
I know a lot of you will disagree with this choice I have made but in the end ….its MY choice because its MY art and I intend to protect what is MINE. I know I will probably lose a lot of watchers because of this and although it will sadden me, it’s a bridge I will build and get over.

So there you have it.

For those who have read this far, I apologise for my very uncharacteristic rant in here as you all know its not what I do BUT I wont apologise for wanting to protect my artwork.
Thank you to all who have stuck by me, supported and encouraged my work and I hope that you will still be there on the other side of this. For those who move on (and I know there will be some that will, its inevitable), I thank you for your support in the past and hope that we may meet again.

As a footnote, I will apologise now for those who watch me for the many edits you will see in your inbox over the next few days as I put the watermark over the pieces but I am hoping you will all understand and I will try to do it all in one hit if I can so its over and done with quickly.

I will also apologise too for not posting any new features in this journal today but I won’t keep this journal up too long. I will be back by the end of the week with a whole new swag of wonderful visual treats to feast your eyes on ….that’s a promise.

G’day everyone Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your summer (for those on the “other” side) and winter (for those in the “right” side)
I love winter…it’s the best time of year and even though my tooties are always cold, it’s a small price to pay for not having to endure heat and humidity….well for me anyway.

Nothing new to report here. I’ve been a bit off my game with my artwork of late. Just can’t seem to find the enjoyment in it lately for many reasons. I’m hoping that will change soon but I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s no use fretting over it. It will come when it’s ready.

Anyhooooooo in the meantime, its time to share some wonderful visual treats with you again. I hope you all find something to tickle your fancy, some new Deviants to watch and some old ones to reacquaint yourself with.
