Artist's Comments

The lights had danced above the cabin causing Shep and Jerrico to bark uncontrollably. Their master had been momentarily blinded by the bright lights that shone with such intensity through his windows causing him to stumble as he was drawn outside the cabin beyond his will by both the dogs barking and this strange happening.

The lights then shot off with such speed and all was still again.....way too still.

Their master had raced toward his truck like a man possessed, Shep and Jerrico hot on his heels. The lights had gone in the direction of the odd shaped mountain way back on the edge of his property, the mountain the locals called Devils Tower and as they came over the last hill, there in front of them was the mountain bathed in the beautiful blue light of the moon.
But tonight he didn't see that beauty, tonight he had been drawn to this place against his will and there, behind the mountain were the lights, hovering silently like sentinels guarding a shape so intense in its brightness that it took his breath away.

He got out of his truck and started walking toward the lights as if in a trance until the barking of Shep and Jerrico stopped him in his tracks. He turned around and in a low deep voice he commanded them to "stay!". They sat down obediently next to the truck as he continued to walk toward the mountain. They had watched with fear and devotion, eager to hear their masters voice call them to his heels, but he just kept walking. They had watched as he got closer to the mountain, their keen eyes seeing his every movement as he disappeared into the copse of trees that lined the base of the mountain.

Their obedience wouldn't allow them to follow and there they sat waiting.....waiting for the return of their master.....

Wonderful.Beautiful visual and great story,I like how it is told from the dogs point of view.Beautiful and cinematic composition, dramatic yet suitably subdued colours combine with and compliment the amazing lighting which brings to life both the tension, eerieness, and loneliness of the scene and it's atmosphere.Truly another wonderful science fiction visual tale told with unique perspective and heart.:+favlove:

Awww thanks Shaun....again, such a beautiful comment
I seem to keep pushing myself with pieces that have dramatic lighting in them because they show such depth mood I think personally. I love working with pieces like this and after the horrible dry spell Ive had over the last week or so I'm really happy with the outcome of this piece. Stocks were so hard to find for this piece so it is slightly varied on how I originally wanted it to look.
Thanks again for the lovely comment Shaun and as always for the fav my friend :D

You did this very well. (you were faster than me.i played with Tii and the other cats all evening and my work had to wait)

Only difficulty with using animals as models is their fur. I found the eraser tool with grass brush setting rather useful in that. It takes a little time to find out the technique, but I can say it's worth of it.
I made a cat fur with that technique in this: [link]
