I don't like the tear , it is not the same as water and not smooth . If you control Opacity in PS low alot and use tool Dodge tool in the bottom of the tear I think you'll have better results .Sorry if my comment make you are not happy .
I like this story .your artwork remind me Kingkong film .

Ive done that but when I softened the piece overall it made the tear flat and not so outstanding. Thanks for the feedback. Im always trying to improve and appreciate the tip.
