~...As children, one rainy day they had found it up in the attic but they didnt know what it was. Just a funny piece of wood with letters and numbers on it. They would spell each others names out using their finger as a pointer. It wasn't till they were in their teens that they found out from the daughter of a housemaid who was the same age as they were, what the board was for, the powers it had. It had scared them both at what they had seen and how the hair all over their bodies had felt as if someone had been touching them. That was the last time the girls had touched the board. As they grew from awkward teens to beautiful women, many other things stole their interests and the board was forgotten about, gathering dust with all their dolls and toys that used to keep them occupied for hours as children.
A year ago today, Melinda had been riding her beloved horse Caesar, racing across the moors at breakneck speed as they always did. Melinda was the headstrong one, a willfull young lady, daring anything and anyone that came in their path. She had dug her heels into Caesar's flanks urging him over a high hedge and as they were both lifted over the hedge, a fox that had been hiding behind it, darted out suddenly, spooking Caesar to balk, loosing his footing and throwing Melinda from the saddle. She had hit her head on a rock. Her untimely death had taken her whole family into the darkest, deepest pits of grief but none as deeply as it had Hannah. She missed her sister terribly and there wouldn't be one day in her life since, that Melinda wouldn't be in her thoughts. Over the last few weeks and as the anniversary of the passing of Melinda was nearing, Hannah's thoughts often went to the board, upstairs in the attic now covered with dust and cobwebs. Today she had bought it downstairs. She had stood looking at it for a long time, scared and yet excited by its power having seen what it can do. But now she decided, it was time.......she needed to be close to Melinda.....she had to see her again...she had to feel her...she had to communicate...~ Stock: Table base, glass and hair highlights by me. Come see *theskyclub
I've always wanted to use a Quija board. My father once saw one move without anyone touching it. Since then, we've had them banned in our bloodline, basically.
My mom even bought one as a party game once for a party she was throwing; he broke it in 2 and threw it away.
I tried to find one during High School but had no luck. I remembered as a child, stores carried them along with Monopoly and such in the game section. As an adult they were nowhere to be found.
My fathers passed away now; he actually died in this house. So I'd be curious to use one now, just out of morbid curiosity.
As I've always said, the last words of the human race will be "hey look, it worked!"
